Deep Fried Shrimp Recipe
This crispy deep fried shrimp recipes is great as a delicious snack or serve them up with fries for a tasty meal.
Serving Size - serves 4
3 cups large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 Tablespoon parsley, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
pinch of freshly-ground black pepper
oil for deep frying
1 cup seafood sauce, for dipping
Peel and de-vein the shrimp and then rinse them under cold water. Pat dry using paper towel. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat the eggs.
Add the olive oil and 3 tablespoons of cold water.
Add the parsley, garlic, baking soda and salt.
Stir in the flour and mix until well blended and smooth.
Let the batter rest, unrefrigerated, for 1 hour.
Heat olive oil to 350ºFin a deep sturdy pan.
Working carefully, dip shrimp into batter, allowing the excess batter to dip off, and gently drop the shrimp into the hot oil.
Fry until golden brown and slightly puffed, about 2-4 minutes.
Continue in batches until you have used all the shrimp.
